Irish Ranchers Today Cahill, Ranch Flynn, Jack Flynn, Joe Flynn, Dennis Fitzgerald Ranch Lane Brothers Keily Ranch O'Keeffe, John O'Leary Mike O'Leary Tom O'Sullivan, Mike Murphys Ranch Taylor, Barry & John Taylor, Neil Shine Ranch Con FLynn Mr. Flynn was born July 5,1921, in Lakeview to John C. and Katherine (Crowley) Flynn. He was raised in San Francisco and Lakeview. He graduated from Lakeview High School in 1940, and attended Heales Business College in San Francisco before returning to the family ranch in 1942. He spent the remainder of his life ranching in Plush and Beatty. Throughout his life Mr. Flynn was involved in ranching activities, including serving as president of the Lake County Woolgrowers Association, a director for the Bureau of Land Management, and the Lake County Co-op. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Fourth Degree. He was a member of the Oregon Cattlemen's Association, the Lakeview Elks, and St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Mr. Flynn is survived by his wife, NoraLynch Flynn, Lakeview; son and daughter-in-law John and Matilda Flynn, Lakeview; daughter and son-in-law Monica and William Beyer, Gold River, Calif.; son Neil Flynn, Plush; son-in-law Dr. Gene Harlan, Penngrove, Calif.; grandchildren Jerome and Sierra Harlan, Kirby and Kelsie Flynn, Ryan and Marianne Beyer; sister Margaret Dunne, Pleasanton, Calif.; brother and sister-in-law John J. and Elouise Flynn, Redding, Calif., Jack and Breda Flynn, Plush, and Joe and Julia Flynn, Plush; sisters-in-law Joanne Flynn, Lakeview, and Beryl Flynn, Santa Cruz, Calif. Mr. Flynn was preceded in death by a daughter, Lea Marie Harlan; sisters Kathleen Flynn and Maureen O'Callaghan; and brothers Thomas and Dan Flynn. Holy Rosary Services will be held Sunday, April 14, at 7 p.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Monday, April 15, at 10 a.m., also at St. Patrick's. Father Raymond Hopp will officiate. Internment will follow at the Sunset Cemetery. A reception and luncheon will follow at the Lakeview Elks Lodge. Bearing the casket will be Dennis Flynn, Joe John Flynn, Con Fitzgerald, Mike Goslin, Lane Simpson and Hugh Cahill. All of Mr. Flynn's friends are honorary casket bearers. Contributions in memory of Mr. Flynn may be made to the Lake County Memorial Heart Fund, care of Jim Lynch, 620 North First St., Lakeview, Ore. 97630, the Past Presidents Memorial Museum, care of John Flynn, 438 Mountain View, Lakeview, Ore., 97630, or to the charity of the donor's choice. |
